The Savannah writing department is pleased to announce the availability of funds for writing students seeking to submit their best work to literary contests and residencies.

How does it work?

1. Submit your best work to a reputable publisher, journal or magazine’s writing contest, grant or residency competition.

2. Pay the contest entry fee (which usually also pays for a one-year subscription to the journal).

3. Save the entry fee receipt or confirmation page.

4. Within one week, submit the receipt to Aldine Armstead, Assistant to the Chair: [email protected]

5. Be reimbursed your payment by the Writing Department.

Limitations: 1 re-imbursement per student per quarter; $35 per literary journal contest submission or $50 for book contests, fellowships, and residencies. Funding is limited, so be sure to submit your receipts early each quarter.

If you win, you’re required to let us know so we can brag about you!
