Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival

The fiction contest for the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival is still open to submissions until Nov. 30. The entrance fee is $25 and the grand prize is $1,500, domestic airfare to the festival (up to $500), French-Quarter accommodations, a VIP All-Access pass to the next festival and a public reading at the next festival. Finalists will receive a panel pass to the festival and their names will be published on the festival website.  Only writers who have not yet published a book or had a professional production are eligible to enter.

BkMk Press Writing Contests

The annual John Ciardi prize for poetry and the G.S. Sharat Chandra prize for short fiction are currently accepting submissions. Winners from both categories will receive $1,000 prize as well as publication from BkMk Press. Manuscripts for poetry must be approximately 50-110 pages single-spaced and the short fiction collection manuscript must be 125-130 double-spaced pages. There is $25 entry fee. The final date for submissions is Jan. 15.
