Harpur Palate Award:

The Harpur Palate Award for creative nonfiction’s deadline for submissions swiftly approaches. The deadline for this award is Nov. 15 and the winner receives $500. There is a $15 entry fee and you are also more than welcome to submit work to their regular fall submissions period, which also ends Nov. 15.

The Gordian Review:

Submissions for the Gordian Review are due by Nov. 30. The Gordian Review is an annual online publication that is an adjunct of the Texas Review Press. It’s operated by graduate students for graduate students. They are looking for fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction by graduate students. There is a $2.00 entry fee.

Tennessee Williams Festival:

The 2016 Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival Writing Contest is now open for submissions. The deadline for the poetry contest is Nov. 15 with a $20 entrance fee. The Grand Prize is $1500, a VIP all-access pass for the festival, publication in “Louisiana Cultural Vistas Magazine,” and a public reading at the festival. The fiction contest deadline is Nov. 30 with a $25 entrance fee. The Grand Prize is $1500, domestic airfare (up to $500) and French Quarter accommodations to attend the New Orleans festival. The winner is also given an all-access VIP pass and a public reading and their work will be published in “Louisiana Literature.” All finalists will receive a panel pass to the festival and their work will be published on their website.  Only writers who have not yet published a book or had a professional production are eligible to enter.
