Diliberto is the author of six books – two historical novels and four biographies. She is also the author of a play, Coco at the Ritz, which is inspired by the arrest and interrogation of Coco Chanel at the end of World War II, and which was featured last September in the Actors Studio Fall Festival of New Plays in New York. Gioia has been a contributor to many publications, from The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times, to Smithsonian and Vanity Fair, and she has been a judge for prominent literary contests, including The National Book Award. Her work has been translated into several languages, and her novel, The Collection, was optioned for a movie.

Gioia Diliberto is teaching Magazine Journalism this spring at SCAD Savannah.
