Introduce Megan Boone at aTVfest in Atlanta
One SCAD student will get the chance to introduce “The Blacklist” star Megan Boone at SCAD’s aTVfest on Feb 8. In addition, the winner will receive a full pass to the entire festival. All a student needs to do is craft and film a Megan Boone introduction speech, then tweet the video to @paulaswallace with the hashtag #aTVfestSTAR. Visit the website for more information.

Spend the afternoon with writer Scott Turow
The Savannah Book Festival kicks off its seventh season with opening keynote address from award-winning writer Scott Turow on Thursday, Feb. 13. Turow is a practicing lawyer and author of nine best-selling works of fiction including “Presumed Innocent,” “Innocent” and “The Burden of Proof,” and two nonfiction books including “One L” about his law school experiences.
Turow will be holding a lecture for students at 4 p.m. in Arnold Hall Auditorium (Savannah) on Thursday, Feb. 13. Students will have the opportunity to hear about his experiences as a writer and ask questions in an intimate environment. Seventy-five students from SCAD will be able to attend on a first-come first-serve basis. Bring your ID and come early!
Register for PR Intern and Nonprofit Mixer
Meet representatives of a number of nonprofit agencies and develop internships for coming semesters at a PR Intern and Nonprofit Mixern Wednesday, March 5, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Savannah Morning News auditorium, 1375 Chatham Parkway.
Sponsored by Carriage Trade Public Relations Inc., the mixer is an opportunity for juniors and seniors interested in public relations to meet leaders of local nonprofit establishments, work on putting together a yearly PR plan and getting to see how well they work together. The goal is to match the nonprofits with the students for summer or fall internships.

Landscape Architecture Magazine seeks staff editor/writer
Landscape Architecture Magazine is the monthly magazine of the American Society of Landscape Architects. The magazine is seeking a versatile staff writer/editor for its print magazine and web site to cover landscape architecture, environmental and urban affairs, design practice and technology, among other areas. The ideal candidate will be a sharp, fast writer and reporter with a natural ear for news and emerging developments, a perceptive and constructive editor, and an omnivorous but skeptical consumer of design and culture.
Candidates must have minimum three years’ experience in writing for publication; knowledge of landscape architecture, design, planning, and/or environmental issues.

Intern with Hallmark
Hallmark is seeking candidates for the 2014 Creative Summer Internship Program. As a company seeking students with a wide variety of skills in disciplines such as creative writing, copywriting, industrial design, graphic design, user-experience design, interaction design, illustration, product development and animation/modeling. The application deadline for all Creative Summer Internships is Saturday, March 1, 2014.

Intern with the Wassaic Project
Work with a group of young, passionate artists and curators at the Wassaic Project, a vibrant multidisciplinary arts organization based in Wassaic, N.Y. Learn about aspects of running an arts organization from curating, press, marketing, event planning, installation, gallery management and more. Interns have the chance to manage their own projects and will work on the Summer Benefit, Summer Exhibition and Festival application process, curation, promotion and installation, Artist Residency application process and logistics, and will help manage Artist Residency program and events. Interns will work directly with artists as well as the directors of the Wassaic Project. Interns receive a small stipend and housing. Submit work for The Southeast Review contest
Florida State University’s nationally renowned literary journal, The Southeast Review, is now accepting submissions for the 2014 contest season in three categories:
1. Narrative Nonfiction Contest judged by Mark Winegardner (1 piece, up to 6,000 words)
2. Gearhart Poetry Contest judged by Barbara Hamby (up to 3 poems, 10 pages total)
3. World’s Best Short-short Story Contest judged by Robert Olen Butler (3 shorts, up to 500 words each)
One winner will be chosen and awarded $500. Additionally, the winning entry and finalists will be published in Issue 33.1, Spring 2015. This year’s submission deadline is March 15, 2014. Submit electronically or send submission and $16 entry fee via snail mail to:

The Lanier Library in Tryon, N.C., is accepting submissions for its sixth annual Sidney Lanier Poetry Competition, to be judged this year by Dr. Joseph Bathanti, N.C. Poet Laureate.
