TheCelebrityCafe.com seeks interns for 2014
The Celebrity Cafe offers a virtual program to students nationwide in the areas of writing, copy editing and social media marketing. Each program requires 120 hours over 12 weeks, has an assignment for each week building on what was learned the week prior and significant oversight.

The writing internships provide more than button-pushing opportunities. They require good news judgment, solid writing, creativity and personal brand building. In addition to basic news stories, interns create original content by interviewing celebrities, compiling top 10 lists and writing reviews.

Copyediting interns are trained to publish content in Drupal, which requires precise HTML coding.

Social media interns do basic work on Twitter, Facebook and Google +, as well as Pinterest Disqus, StumbleUpon, Reddit, etc and are each required to submit a proposal to improve outreach, attempt what they’ve proposed, and review the results to see if they’ve had success.

Recent interns have gone on to paid internships at MTV, the Daily News, the NY Post and Newsday. They have gotten full-time jobs at Newsday, Parents.com and NPR as a direct result of their work with The Celebrity Cafe. For more information, email Angela Corry, managing editor.
