SCAD Savannah is pleased to announce that Chicago writers Richard Babcock and Gioia Diliberto will be the visiting writers for Fall 2013.

Babcock has spent his career moving between journalism and fiction. After serving as a top editor at New York magazine, he was editor-in-chief at Chicago magazine for 20 years before stepping down in 2011. He now teaches and writes.  His three novels, all set in the Midwest, are “Martha Calhoun,” “Bow’s Boy” and “Are You Happy Now?”

Diliberto is a journalist and author of five books, most recently “The Collection,” a novel set in Coco Chanel’s atelier in 1919. She has written for The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, Vanity Fair, Town & Country and Smithsonian.

Babcock and Diliberto will teach WRIT 435: Visiting Writer on Mondays and Wednesdays, 2-4:30 p.m. The course will focus on magazine journalism and ethics.
