Writers Roundtable – Ren and Helen Davis

Ren and Helen Davis, freelance writers and photographers, produce books and audiovisual presentations on historical travel topics. They have produced more than 80 articles for magazines and newspapers, including Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine; Appalachian Trailway News; American Way Magazine (American Airlines); The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Atlanta Magazine, among others. They will discuss freelance writing, developing a niche and how to become published.

Award-winning Atlanta author Thomas Mullen will speak to SCAD students on writing various genres, from realistic fiction to futuristic fantasy, as well as his own writing process and today’s challenges of becoming a published literary fiction author.

Calvin Ramsey discusses his transformation, after 9/11/01, from a career in corporate America to his lifelong dream of author and playwright. He explores recurring themes of racism, reconciliation and the importance of history.
