Peachtree Publishers seeks intern
Students interested in a publishing or marketing career have the opportunity to gain real-life experience this summer. In this unpaid position, the intern will assist in the development of the forthcoming season’s publicity and marketing plans and in the execution of daily department tasks. Candidates must be able to work 10 hours weekly from May through August at the Atlanta-based office.
Fill out the application. Then submit resume, cover letter, and a writing sample to [email protected]. Also, if interested in specializing in any particular area of children’s book publicity, please indicate this in your cover letter.
The deadline to apply is April 1.
Bristol Short Story Prize is now open for submissions
The 2017 Bristol Short Story Prize accepts unpublished work from all writers worldwide. The maximum word limit is 4000, but there is no minimum. Stories may be on any theme or subject. Submit online or by post. The entry fee is $10.00 for all stories submitted.
The top twenty stories will be published in in Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology Volume 10. All winners will receive the anthology. The winner and runners up will receive cash awards.

C&R Press is accepting submissions
The C&R Press is running two writing contests for timeless pieces. The Full Length Open contest will accept complete fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry manuscript at a fee of $25. The Soup Bowl Winter Chapbook charges $20 to enter 20-45 pages of bound material.

Two sisters Writing seeks fictional pieces
Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit fictional pieces to the monthly contests. Four winners per contest will win $75 in prize money, be featured on the website, and be published in the First Annual Two Sisters Writing and Publishing Anthology of Fresh Writers.

Blue River accepting graduate level work
Blue River seeks the best poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by students currently enrolled in graduate creative writing programs or within one year post-graduation. The non-profit literary journal does not charge for submissions. Writers whose pieces are accepted will receive one free copy of the 2017 issue.

The 2017 Pinch Literary Awards accepting submissions
Applicants can submit fiction or nonfiction prose up to 5000 words or 1-3 poems. The winners in each category will each receive $1000 and be published in the upcoming Pinch issue. The first entry costs $20 and includes one digital issue of the Pinch. Subsequent entries will cost $10. The work will be judged anonymously.

Second Annual Ex Ophidia Press opens poetry contest
All English-language authors are welcome to enter a poetry book manuscript. Suggested length is 64-84 pages. Poetry must be a Word document and single-spaced. The winning entry will be published by Ex Ophidia Press and a cash award of $1000.
