Writers in Paradise
The Twelfth Annual Eckerd College Writers’ Conference, Writers in Paradise, will be taking place Jan. 16-23, 2016. They are currently accepting applications until Nov. 15. The conference will be 8 days in St. Petersburg, Fl., and consist of workshops, book signings, roundtables, panel discussions, readings, Q&As, and receptions with their award winning faculty and guest speakers, including Pulitzer Prize winner Gilbert King. There is a $25 application fee.
The conference also offers over 20 fellowships and scholarships on a competitive basis. Many of these are available specifically for MFA students.
IRTS Foundation 2016 Summer Fellowship Program
The IRTS Foundation (International Radio and Television Society Foundation) is accepting applications to their 2016 Summer Fellowship Program from now until midnight on Nov. 1.
This 9 week program is designed to help students understand the business world by being paired with a New York-based media corporation and working with them for 8 of the 9 weeks following their orientation.
The internship will take place June 5-Aug. 6, 2016. They will cover your travel and housing expenses and will even supply a living allowance. Students in all majors are encouraged to apply as long as they are juniors, seniors, or graduate students.
