Apply for Design Writing Opportunity
September 16, 2020 | Leave a Comment
Designers Today magazine is offering a select number of spots to current SCAD seniors and graduate student who are interested in attending the virtual Designer Experience conference next week. This is an exciting opportunity to hear what is happening in the Design Community from lifestyle brands such as AphroChic’s Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason and interior textiles designer Sarah Von Dreele. Following the design talks, participants will attend a virtual tour of the Baxter Mills archives (now Springs Creative) in North Carolina. The afternoon concludes with the panel, “Writing and Publishing Your Book: From concept to completion to consumption, authors share how they got it done.” The event concludes with a virtual reception where participants have an opportunity to engage with the speakers and each other. Please consider applying for this amazing networking opportunity for students preparing to enter the design or design-writing world.
Interested SCAD seniors and graduate students need to email a response to the following questions by 5 p.m. Friday, September 18. The question presented should excite your dreams for the future. There is a possibility that Designers Today Editor Jane Dagmi will publish your response in the magazine.
Fibers Professor Jessica Smith will be available on Friday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. ET to review submissions and answer any questions. Email her at [email protected] if you would like to attend the review session.
