New Airlie Prize seeks submissions
The first annual Airlie Prize is open to all poets writing in English, regardless of place of residence. The winner will receive $1,000 and have their poetry collection published in the October 2018 issue. Make sure to remove all identifying information from manuscript prior to submitting.
To enter, use the Submittable page. Entry fee is $20. Deadline is Mar. 31.
MFA Monthly wants politically charged pieces
Seeking submissions from M.F.A students across the country, MFA Monthly’s current issue will focus on the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Submissions should be politically mindful poetry, stories and essays. To submit work, visit the Green Submissions site and create a free account. Submit work by either pasting it into the text field or uploading it as a .doc or .docx file. Please leave the biography field blank.

Enter the 2017 ABR Essay Prizes
The Australian Book Review holds one of the world’s leading prizes for an original short story, the Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize. Stories should be between 2,000 and 5,000 words. The Jolley Prize is open to anyone in the world who is writing in English. Winner will earn AU$12,500.
Deadline is April 10.
The ABR also has opened the 2017 ABR Calibre Essay Prize. Essays should fall between 3,000 and 7,000 words on any non-fiction subject. Calibre is open to anyone in the world who is writing in English. Winner will earn AU$7,500.
Deadline is Mar. 17.

Blue River call for submissions
The non-profit literary journal is looking for the best poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by students currently enrolled in graduate creative writing programs or within one year post-graduation.

The 2017 Dead Bison Editors’ Prize is now open
A prize of $1,000 and publication in Arcadia is given for the best short story, nonfiction piece and a group of poems. Using the online submission system, submit up to 25 pages of fiction or nonfiction and 10 pages of poetry with the $15 entry fee.
