Tethered By Letters’ Spring Contest Cycle is coming to a close. The last date to submit your flash fiction, short stories and poems is July 15. Within those categories, any genre is accepted and the winner will receive publication in F(r)iction as well as a cash prize of up to $1,000. There is a $15 entry fee. It is strongly recommended to look at previous versions of F(r)iction before submitting your work to them so you can get an idea of what kind of work they tend to publish. They do allow simultaneous submissions, but you should let them know if your work is accepted elsewhere. It’s also a good idea to look over their formatting and other submissions guidelines before sending in your work. This is a great opportunity for students to get their work published!

Emrys Press Chapbook Prize

Emrys Press is looking for poetry manuscripts up to 24-26 pages long. For this contest, they will only accept poems written in English by one author, no translations will be considered. The winner shall receive $250 as well as 20 copies of the book. The winner will be invited to spend one week at the Rensing Center in South Carolina and will be featured on Emrys’ website. Your manuscript should include a contents page and a title, but should not include your contact information. That information will be collected separating from the submissions page. Only previously unpublished work will be considered for this competition. The deadline for submissions is midnight on July 15. There is a $20 entry fee and the winner will be announced November 30.
