Submission Opportunities
January 5, 2016 | Leave a Comment
Palaver
UNCW’s online interdisciplinary journal hosted by their Graduate Liberal Arts program publishes bi-monthly in December and May. They are currently seeking submissions for their next issue, following the release of their most recent issue. Palaver seeks submissions that break the rules and don’t confine themselves to a single discipline. They publish both academic and creative works that aren’t restrictive and try to incorporate multiple different disciplines in one piece. Versatality, skill and ingenuity are what Palaver looks for in a publishable work. Please limit submitted works to no more than 30 pages and/or 5 poems. You are allowed to send only one work, no multiple submissions and no previously published work (no matter where it was published). Only fill out identifying information on the Submittable page form. If even a portion of your work is submitted and accepted elsewhere, please notify Palaver immediately. If you have any questions, feel free to check out their webpage or send an email to submissions(at)palaverjournal(dot)com.
Enizagam Contest
From now until March 2016, Enizagam is accepting submissions to their volume 10 contest. They are accepting submissions in fiction and poetry. Enizagam is a unique because it is staffed entirely by teenager writers at the Oakland School of the Arts and every issue features art work from teenage artists. There is a $20 reading fee for submitted work and the winner in each category will receive a $1,000 prize. Fiction work must be limited to 6,000 words and you may submit up to 10 pages of poetry, 3-5 poems maximum. If you have questions, feel free to email them to enizagamjournal(at)gmail(dot)com.
Blue River
Blue River is a literary journal made by Creighton University’s MFA program. They are still accepting prose and poetry submissions until March 1 for their next publication. There is a submission fee of $15 (per entry) and all writers that submit work are automatically eligible for the Blue River Editor’s Award. All prose work must be no longer than 8,000 words and you may submit 3-5 poems or a max of 10 pages. Make sure all identifying information is removed from the work you submit as each entry is read blind. If your work is accepted to Blue River, it may not be published anywhere else prior to publication. All decisions will be announced by March 23.
