SCAD Atlanta Accolades and Updates

M.F.A. alum Nikki Igbo has been writing regularly for Radiant Health Magazine and recently interviewed Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba.
Nikki is also going to be one of the writers featured at the 2015 Letters Festival. Other authors will include Amelia Gray, Khadijah Queen, Dorthea Laskey, and Laura Theobald.
The Letters Festival includes workshops, readings, and a Book Market. Many events are ticketed, but college students with ID get in free.

SCAD Atlanta writing professor Jamie Iredell’s latest book Last Mass will be published in August and is already garnering positive reviews. Last Mass is Professor Iredell’s fourth book. His previous books include Prose. Poems. A Novel. and I Was a Fat Drunk Catholic School Insomniac. Interested in taking a class with Professor Iredell? He’s teaching CREA 362 Fiction III in the fall.
B.F.A. writing student Kate Betts and B.F.A. writing student Emme Raus will be interning at Burnaway in the fall.
M.F.A. writing student Scott Russell published “Six Reasons to Say Yes to Subtitles” in Paste Magazine.
M.F.A. writing alum Priscilla Alarcon accepted a marketing coordinator position at Indo Puri, Inc., an artisan furniture company.
Any students who are revising work this summer, might want to check out SCAD Atlanta writing professor Chris Bundy‘s essay on revision in Glimmer Train. Interested in taking a class with Professor Bundy? He’ll be teaching WRIT 713 Nonfiction I in the fall.
