Portland Review Submissions

Portland Review is now open for submissions to the winter 2015 issue until December 1, 2014. They are looking for fine-crafted fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art and blends of these for print and web publication. This year they are also accepting outside reviews of books and other materials. Contributing authors and artists receive a free copy of the issue, discounts on issues and an endless supply of admiration.

They do not accept previously published work, or work sent by mail or email. Simultaneous submissions are welcome through the website, where further guidelines can be found.

The North American Review Bicentennial Creative Writing and Literature Conference

The North American Review Bicentennial Creative Writing and Literature Conference will be held next summer (June 11-13, 2015) on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, and they are eager to include papers, panels, and roundtables from a wide range of writers and critics. The keynotes speakers are Martín EspadaPatricia Hampl, and Steven Schwartz.

Submissions are now open. Please submit no more than five poems, one short story, two short-short stories, or one essay (no more than 30 pages typically). They do not allow simultaneous submissions. Please see the website for more information.

pacificREVIEW Submissions

The newest issue of the pacificREVIEW seeks dynamic pieces of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, graphic narratives, photography and artwork that speak to this theme and interrogate the ever-blurring line between “real” and “unreal” settings. Simultaneous submissions are fine, granted that you inform the pacificREVIEW if/when your work is accepted elsewhere. PLEASE NOTE that we no longer accept email submissions.  See the website for more information.
