The Vine Leaves Vignette Collection Award
The Vine Leaves Literary Journal announces the second Vine Leaves Vignette Collection Award and is inviting writers to submit their best manuscript of vignettes.
Submissions is open from June 1, 2014 to February 28, 2014. Prizes include $500 and publication in early 2016 by Vine Leaves Press. For submission rules and guidelines please see the website.
Lascaux Literary Review calls for submission
The Lascaux Prize in poetry contest is presently open for submissions. The winner receives $1,000 and publication in The Lascaux Review. Poets may enter more than once, and as many as five poems may be submitted per entry. Deadline for entries is September 23, 2014. Submission information can be found on the website.
The inaugural Christine E. Eldin Memorial Fellowship will open for submissions September 1, 2014. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to an unpublished middle-grade fiction writer whose work-in-progress reveals potential for a successful writing career. For further infrmation please see the website.
The 2014 Lascaux Prize in short fiction contest will open October 1, 2014. The winner receives $1,000 and publication in The Lascaux Review. Stories may be previously published or unpublished, and simultaneous submissions are accepted. Submission information can be found on the website.

The Missouri Review is now accepting submissions for the 24th Annual Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize competition
In addition to the $15,000 awarded to the first place winners, three finalists in each category receive cash awards and are considered for publication. Fiction and nonfiction entries should not exceed 25 typed, double-spaced pages. Poetry entries can include any number of poems up to 10 pages in total. Postmark deadline is October 14, 2014. Catfish Creek accepting submissions

So to Speak Journal accepting submissions.
So to Speak: A Feminist Journal of Language and Art is now open for submissions. Winners will receive $500, publication in the journal, and two copies of the journal. The deadline is October 15, 2015 and please see the website for more details.
Flyway submissions
Flyway’s reading period is September 15, 2014 to May 15, 2015. General submissions of poetry (up to five poems), short stories (up to 5,000 words), essays (up to 5,00 words), short-shorts (up to three with a maximum of 1,000 words each), and visual art portfolios (three-five images). 2015 International Literary Award from the Center for Women Writers
Accepting submission for the Reynolds Price Short Fiction Award, the Rita Dove Poetry Award, and thePenelope Niven Creative Nonfiction Award. There is a mailing postmarked deadline of November 15, 2014 and an online deadline by December 31, 2014. The winner in each genre will receive $1000.
