AWP Intro Journals Project Accepting Nominations

Calling all undergraduate Writing majors! Submit your best fiction and nonfiction immediately. Faculty representatives from the SCAD Writing Department will read your work and nominate one piece from each category to the Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) Intro Journals Project. AWP will then select winners, which will be published in the following literary journals:
Hayden’s Ferry Review • Mid-American Review • Colorado Review • Puerto del Sol • Controlled Burn • Quarterly West • Tampa Review • Artful Dodge
AWP Intro Journals Project nomination is a feather in your cap, and a great way to get your work in front of readers. So cultivate your publishing career by submitting now! One or two SCAD students will be nominated–why not you?
Eligibility:
-Open to all SCAD undergraduate Writing Majors
-Nominated works must be unpublished and may not be under consideration elsewhere for the duration of the contest.
Deadline: Thursday, November 21, 2013
Response time: 2 weeks
Genre: All forms of nonfiction and fiction.
Word Count: Under 25 pages.
Submission Limit: 1 piece of fiction per student, and/or one piece of nonfiction. (You may submit a total of two pieces, as long as one is fiction, and one is nonfiction.)
Submission Method: Word Doc. attachment(s) with page numbers.

Lee Griffith (Savannah campus students)
Catherine Ramsdell (Atlanta campus students)
eLearning and Hong Kong students may submit work to either editor.
Style & Format:
-MLA, Chicago, or AP style. Double-spaced.
-The Word Doc. should have two title pages as follows: the first should include the title, author’s name, permanent address, phone number, and name and address of the member writing program (below); the second should include the title only.
