The Headphones

photo-4

This started as a SCAD map.  I had to tear t up and recreate something new.  I stomped it in the dirt. I spray painted it.  I ripped it up.  It pretty much still maintained its color, though.  I poured some black and red ink on it.  I decided that with the red ink on Hamilton Hall(Film and Television/Sound Design hall) I should do something with my major, which is Sound Design.  I decided to created headphones.  This was no easy task.  I used cardboard, clothes hangers, and duck tape to piece this together.  I like the results, but I was told it strayed a little bit away from the assignment.

This group project tells the sad story of a schizophrenic Jack who is searching for the Fountain of Youth, but comes up a little short.

I was in charge of the 3rd panel. It depicts Jack on his journey to the fountain of youth.  This panel almost made the project feel incomplete, because I decided not to draw Jill inside his head. I did not draw her, because it was a very tiny space and I did not want her figure to be distorted or look like a blob.  Overall, I like the results and others did too once they found out the concept

This blog is very awesome.  It shares a lot of knowledge and gives help to music producers.  It answers some pretty common questions as well as specific ones that I might have.  I found many helps tips on this blog; however, it sometimes does not go into much detail depending on the topic.

I am a user of Apple Logic(a program for producing music) and this blog is very cool.  It keeps me updated with their latest updates, new instruments, and free demo packages.  It has a lot of information on pretty much anything you need to know about Apple Logic.  They don’t post very often. I wish that they maintained the blog more frequently.

Repitition Grid

I decided to do something that I thought would be very different. I started off with four uniform corners. I wanted to give the appearance of one of the corners blowing up from an explosion.

I had to take one shape and place into another shape to form one tile. I used a square and a triangle.  I then had to tile them to form a 10×10 plane.

Concentration and Isolation

Isolation and Concentration Design

I had to make two drawings focusing on isolation of an object and two drawings focusing on the concentration of one point.

Subdivison Re-do

Remake of Subdivision of a Groundsheet

I chose to recreate the rounded shape, because I felt i should have used more space on the plane. I also like how it flows in one direction now.

Final Subdivision of Groundsheet

Subdivision of a Groundsheet Final

I chose to work with these 4 designs.  I like the way they turned out.  I think most others enjoyed the top right one.  I had minor craftsmanship errors.  The trouble came from having to cut the rounded shapes and cutting the thick board.

Last of the Sketches

The final few sketches for my project.  I liked a couple of each, but I only could chose one vertical/horizontal, one diagonal, one rounded, and one that had all four.

Here are more sketches, guys!

I had to create different way to divide a plane by using different variations of line weight.
