This is a followup to my definition of graphic design.
My definition of graphic design has changed slightly. Defining anything that has its own energy is like hitting a moving target. It can prove to be quite difficult. Although I believe that graphic design is the best form of visual communication. I am beginning to consider it to be an entity that give my creativity. AIGA defines it as ‘a creative process that combines art and technology to communicate ideas’ I believe this to be try but at sometimes it seams more like a cult. If you have ever been a room filled with designers watching them closely. You can see the dedication as they work many hours staring at computer.They have submitted there will to the design god and they will give anything for this god/goddess to favor on their design body. They lose sleep, skip healthy meals, sacrifice their personal health, cut their fingers with X-acto blades, etc. This being called graphic design can speak to people of all cultures without the use of translation. If you follow the design commandments given to use by the AIGA design priest, it will bless you with more happiness than you ever could have imagined.
