Welcome! Here’s my introduction/first blog!

Greetings, fellow SCAD folk! Be it teacher or student, allow me to introduce myself. My name is William Ball. I am attending SCAD for the first time this semester as a transfer student. My planned major in Animation with a minor in Sequential Art. I grew up the fine town of Greensboro, North Carolina. I previously attended and graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in Graphic Design/Advertising and a certificate in Computer Graphics.

My passion has always leaned toward the arts and specifically, entertainment. I’ve always like comics, paintings, and more recently, digital art. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, always wanting to draw comics or become an animator. My favorite music honestly depends on my mood at the time, but I’m always into indie, metal, electronica, and soundtracks/scores. I tend to listen to music when I’m working on art or if I’m on the computer. I’m a cartoon nerd, so most of my favorite movies and shows tend to be animated. But recently I’ve really enjoyed more “out-there” cinematic fare such as Inception, Hobo with a Shotgun, and Looper. Feel free to talk to me about movies, cartoons, or video games. I always love to listen and have an interesting conversation. I don’t bite!

I’m sure it will be an incredible experience attending SCAD. I look forward to sharing art with others and vice-versa, and maybe even making some new friends in the process. Check back here every so often for new art/photo submissions, and please feel free to leave any comments or posts.
