Artist Statement
Warning, by reading the rest of this statement you are agreeing to my terms and conditions. I retain the right to change these terms and conditions at anytime set fourth thereafter. I’ve been studying art for sometime now. I’ve found that everyone seems to think it is something different then the next. At this point in time I think that artist establish their own criteria. I believe that one can think about art, and talk about art in many different ways but you actually don’t know what your art will be until you’ve made it. Try as I might to communicate, I also see that each person interprets things from their perspective, so instead of wanting them to understand what I see I’ve became comfortable with the fact that they just interact. For me I’m kinda stuck using the words autonomous, transiting and universal to describe the bulk of what I see as fine art and attempt to produce.
The images I have presented above is work that I’ve been developing while attending graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design in pursuit of a MA degree in photography, through the E-Learning/Online classes. I’ve allowed myself to experiment as much as possible while trying to operate in this setting. I’ve found that I’ve honed my skills in many ways than I intended and grown as an artist, designer and a person.
The work I’ve made in the last year is extensive. I had a hard time choosing what to show here since the number required was small and going back in review I see things that I like now that I didn’t then. Each of the pieces shown above have a personal story and symbolize growth to me although I feel that if I share that with the viewer I may taint their personal experience. I could write a book about these things and may very well do so but I guess this statement is not the proper place for all that. Please relax and view the work above. I’m alluding to many things in my life and speaking in visual metaphors.
Thanks
