Yangshuo 阳朔

Last summer, I went to Yangshuo 阳朔  with a group of friends.  After several stressful weeks at school, I would say that it was a much-needed vacation.

Yangshuo is a beautiful town located 63km south of Guilin 桂林.  It is one of the longest-established state level scenic spot area, with at least 2,000 years of history.  We resided in a hotel that was near the town center.

In the 4 days that we stayed here, we had a lot of adventures:

- rented mountain bikes and traveled out to the countrysides
- explored caves on the outskirts of the town
- went on a bamboo raft and enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the Li River. Saw some cormorant fishing.
-went to a culinary school (cloud9)  to learn how to cook local food: braised eggplants and dumplings
-shopped in Yangshuo West Street (which was just around the corner from our hotel)

If you’re looking for a weekend getaway, consider going to Yangshuo!
