Interface good and bad…

My toes are in the web waters yet so much to learn.  Looking forward to learning more on the subject over all.  Sometimes wish I could create art and do print work forever.

Haven’t gone App gaga on my phone yet can see if time permitted that could be different. Particularly fond of Pinterest yet use only once a week at most.  As a movie fan,  use IMDB often.Watch a couple of shows on the computer since I do not have a tv. This is probably were some interfaces really are poorly done or perhaps its the technology as some shows stream for a few minutes and freeze (CBS).   Others run much smoother and have a nice layout (PBS) which makes it a joy to use.

The biggest frustration has been relying on maps apps for directions when traveling.

It’s interesting because before this was an option I would pull over and look at a map, calmly figure it out and go on my way. Worry that humans will forget how to manage basic tasks as machines and coding takes over. We are fast becoming iBorg.

Introduction

Hello.

This term has me excited to tackle a new topic (have both theory and partical course) – likely adding a few more tools at the same time. BFA in Interior Design, with additional fine arts and graphic design. Almost mid way into the MFA program. My design experience is mostly freelance and in house for small creative firms yet coupled with other experience I was asked to teach a Photoshop course, seven years later I am FT instructor/department lead for a community college design program. Adds some stability to my role as single mom to a teen who is about to head off to college.
Post grad I would like to continue to teach as well as participate in design for good on a deeper level.
Have done some interactive PDFs and a few web sites yet most of my experience is surface, or as user.
