About

The Visual Resources Center at the Savannah College of Art and Design

The Visual Resources Center provides digital images and slides to the students, faculty and staff of the SCAD community. The primary function of the Visual Resources Center is to acquire, catalogue and provide effective access to images of works of art, architecture and design to be used in classroom instruction, student presentations and research.

The Visual Resources Center offers all current students, faculty and staff access to the SCAD Digital Image Database and the ARTstor Digital Library. The SCAD Digital Image Database is a growing collection of over 100,000 images created based on academic course offerings at SCAD and specific requests made by students and faculty.
The ARTstor Digital Library is a database of over 1,000,000 images, associated information and software tools designed to enhance teaching, learning, and scholarship.

The Visual Resources Center also maintains a collection of approximately 325,000 35mm slides for student, faculty and staff use.
