Library Meeting – Success!

18 05 2012

We are extremely happy with how the meeting with Jen Library went! We discussed a number of things and ended with a proposal for extended library hours (cross your fingers)! Here are some notes about what we discussed:

-The addition of Wacom tablets and stylus check-out had been positive.

-Software has been improved in the building making it a good alternative place for students to work.

-The library stacks are being consolidated to make room for new additions to the collection.

-The major open houses have been successful and a fun way to make students aware of how the library can help them in their major studies.

-Online workshops have been added to the library website to help students in their research and aid in utilizing library resources.

-The”Food for Fines” and bookmark competition have been successful programs.

-Students should “like” and “follow” the Jen Library on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr!

-Jen Library hopes to create more short video tutorials to help students with their research!

-Furniture rearrangement might happen to help optimize the space for students.

-Quiet zones may be implemented so that students have areas they can work in without noise distractions.
