Sometimes when you are on a website or using a web-based application something will not function properly and the first thought is that there is something wrong with the website or application. Before calling someone try switching browsers (for example if you were using Internet Explorer try Mozilla Firefox). Some web-based applications will only run on one or two browsers. Some will function on different browsers but work better on one specifically. Websites are sometimes only checked on one browser so the designer does not know that it does not render properly in a different browser. One day one website or application may work fine on one browser and then suddenly it displays differently or isn’t working properly. It may be that the browser made an update that isn’t compatible with that site or application or that the website or application made an update that isn’t compatible with the browser you are using.
All SCAD issued machines will have more than one browser available to you (Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox for PC and Safari and Firefox for MAC). Browsers are free to download on your personal machines at home. Simply go to the site for the browser and download the free file. There will be a wizard to walk you through an easy installation. Most browser installations will even let you transfer over your bookmarks and settings from your already installed browser.
