When working in Office if you want to use a shortcut to repeat your previous command try using the F4 key on your keybard. For example, if you are adding multiple rows to an Excel worksheet add the first row and then hit your F4 key until you have added all the rows you need. This is much quicker than repeating the steps for the actual command. This option works throughout the Office Suite.

Did you know that you have your own folder on the SCAD network? Every faculty, staff and student has a home directory. This folder is a space all your own to store files on the SCAD network. That means these files are backed up along with other network files and they are accessible from any computer on campus as well as MyFile inside of MySCAD! It is best to utilize this space rather than storing files on your desktop, D: drive or Work Space Folder. Those files are not backed up on the network so you risk losing those if there is a problem with your computer.

For students you can find an icon on the desktop of every lab machine you log into designating your Home Space. For staff and faculty if you are on a PC your Home directory is listed as your H: drive under the network drives when looking under your MyComputer Icon (1st icon on your desktop signified with your user name). For Savannah MAC users you can map to your Home Space by plugging into the network and following these instructions:

1. Open the Finder
2. Click on the GO
3. Click on the Connect to Server menu at the top of the screen
4. In the Server field put in smb://adminserv.scad.edu and select Enter
5. Choose Home from the displayed list
6. Log in using your network user name and password

For Atlanta MAC users you will need to follow the same instructions except in step 4 you will enter smb://adminserATL.scad.edu in the Server field.
