Tea and Talk Friday, January 29th

29 01 2010

Tea and Talk was a lot of fun today! We found out that animal sounds are different across the world. Check out this fun site which allows you to hear them: http://www.quack-project.com/table.cgi .

We also talked about some campus resources including 525-RIDE (7433) which transports students from any open SCAD building to off-campus housing after 6p.m.

The Writing Studio was recommended as a wonderful resource to assist students with their writing needs.

Finally, talked about ways to survive mid-term exams next week. These resources are posted within the resources tab.

Next Friday we’ll focus on the challenges of transportation on and off campus. We hope you can join us!

Culture Shock

I’ve been searching YouTube for video clips to illustrate culture shock. Here’s a funny one: “Winner of the 2008 ATOM awards in the “Best Secondary Animation” category. A small yellow toaster from the US falls in love with a foreign power point. Unfortunately, there are problematic cultural differences.”
