Today I put in an hour in the school gym. Surprisingly for an art school there were a good amount of people there, myself included. The facility reminds me of someone’s basement gym on steroids. Clean, dark and filled with boys with the occasional girl or two. I think it will become a staple during my tenure there. No one gawks and the only person who interacted with me was my current boyfriend who also goes to SCAD Atlanta.
I also took the liberty of talking to the assistant editor of student life and checking out the library to use the PCs, which SCAD also has in addition to MACs…yes I am a PC dammit! The entire time I wandered about the SCAD’s tiny campus not one person engaged with me. Maybe I have a Bitch face…or so I’m told haha.
The only complaint I have about the campus is that the HUB is literally at the send of everything and walking through the HUB is like walking through a High School Cafeteria everyone is looking at you wondering why you aren’t paying attention to them. There seems to be obvious cliques of people and you can tell the departments from one another,at least fashion and gaming or sequential arts stick out hard core. Either too much glitz and glamour, or too little color in a sea of black tees. I guess I lean more towards the black tee party.
On another note I lost my glasses in my house apparently and have yet to find them, so I am partially blind until I either locate them or buy new ones. Yay! Tomorrow is my actually first day of class and I am pretty excited to see how the professors and student body are when forced to interact with those who are not their kind.
Until the Morrow!
