The Mad Artists Visit SCAD

Mad Artists reunion at Poetter Hall.
It was an amazing event to see a reunion of the best artists of Mad here at SCAD last weekend. There were a number of events culminating in a panel discussion at the Trustees Theater on November 12 that was entertaining and informative. After that, there was a signing event where all of the artists were available to sign works that audience members brought in. The Special Collections Department was fortunate enough to have Savannah native Al Jaffe, sign a copy of his biography, Al Jaffee’s Mad Life, for our collection. What a privilege! There was also a great exhibit of the artists’ work at Poetter Hall and a reception on November 11, 2011.The artists even had their own news entourage, with CNN and MSNBC following them around.
