SPA trip to Jekyll Island and other fun stuff to look forward to!
SPA’s trip this quarter will be a day trip to Jekyll Island next Friday, February 24th. We’ll leave Savannah bright and early to start a tour given by the island’s director of cultural resources, John Hunter, of the museum and many historic structures across the island at 10am. Then we’ll eat some delicious food and enjoy all that Jekyll has to offer! The cost is $5.00, please get it to us by Wednesday Feb 22nd to reserve your spot.
We are also getting a group together to join the Historic Savannah Foundation’s Race for Preservation! The race is a run/walk 5 or 10K on February 25th. The cost is $30 per person, but if we get a group of 20 it will be reduced to $25! You’ll get a nice tshirt, and all the proceeds go towards local preservation efforts! please email spa@scad.edu if you’re interested!
Our Preservation Week committee is putting together some awesome events for us in the spring! Preservation Week will be April 29th through May 5th. This year’s theme is “Controversies and Conservation,” so there is sure to be some really interesting lectures, workshops and events! We cant wait!
