The assignment was to make a focal point using the techniques of isolation and concentration.  My design on the left is using isolation and my design on the right is using concentration.

-Do not cover the corners with something that does not need to be there

-Do not have so much continuous negative space

-Using different thickness of lines can produce a good result

-Try hard to stay non-objective

-Keep the focus on lines and not shapes

Re-design

This is my re-design.  I chose to replace my design because it was not very appealing and there was too much continuous negative space.  I think this design uses the space better, and it is more interesting to look at.

Final designs

Here are my final designs.  I chose these designs because I thought they were the most original of my designs.  I thought they had interesting patterns and worked well in the space that was provided.

A little bit about me

Posted in Uncategorized on January 8th, 2013 by Stefan Lilly

My name is Stefan Lilly and I am from La Crosse, Wisconsin.  I transferred to SCAD from a school in St. Paul, Minnesota.  I was studying Pre-Medical school and now I am at an art school so it is quite a change for me.  I don’t really have any idea about what I want to major in, I am thinking visual effects or game design.  I learned about SCAD from my twin brother who is also attending SCAD.  This is my first term here at SCAD and the first time I have been to Savannah.    My twin brother’s name is Ander and we have been best friends since we were a year old.  We are not identical so it is not too hard to tell us apart.
