Submit you portfolio by April 17th at 3 p.m. on the fourth floor of Montgomery, behind the greeters desk.
DreamWorks are seeking seniors and graduating grad candidates for the following positions; lighting, texturing, 3D Character Animation, rigging (they have actually just opened 2 spots in their Char TD Challenge). They will also look at exceptional juniors. For this visit DW will not be seeking submissions from modelers or 2D animators.
MAXON 9X90 COMPETITION February 2, 2009

Participation is open to any SCAD student working in motion media. While not mandatory, using Cinema 4D is encouraged. This is your chance to not just attend, but be part of conversation, INSPIRE 09.
Theme: Select one of the Following two themes for the 9×90 competition.
*Personal Inspiration: Where do you find inspiration for your work in motion media. What motivates you? What excites you? What sets you apart?
*A Perfect Storm: Forces aligning, magnify their impact and causing disruptive change-good and not so good!
*Format: SD NTSC- delivered on DVD as a QT file. Total Running Time: 90 seconds or less. No exceptions.
Submission Deadlines: All entries must be submitted on DVD to Soha Kanil (desk behind 4th Floor Montgomery Hall Greeter) no later than close of business (5pm) on Thursday February 5th. No Exceptions. Each disk case must include a label with the following (applicable) information:
Entry Title: TRT: Entry Theme: Creative Director(s)/Director: Writer: Designer(s): Animator(s): Production Designer: Director of Photography: Sound Designer(s): Music Title and Credits: Software Used: INSPIRE Exhibition Release: Signature by Creative Author(s)
Judging: Entries will be judged by BCST Faculty on Feb. 6th. They will be judged on, originality, creative interpretation of the Contest Theme, Production/Post Production Value.
Prizes:
9 Entries will be chosen for exhibition at the INSPIRE 2009 and on SCADs Inspire Website.
Each team behind the 9 selected entries will receive two complimentary Inspire 09 Conference passes.
Maxon will award two top prizes each comprised of Cinema 4D, MoGraph, and Sketch and Toon Software. Awesome!!
Maxon will also award a free 3-month pass to Cineversity, Online Training and Education Resource to the first 50 official entries.
Rhythm and Hues Recruiters Coming January 28, 2009

* The Lighting team is especially interested in looking at students with photorealistic work in their portfolios for a possible apprenticeship at the end of March.
* The Animation team hopes to review reels and interview students who may be ready at end of Winter or Spring Quarter for a possible summer apprenticeship.
* Other specialities are welcome to submit.
Representatives from R&H are:
* Anjelica Casillas – Digital Production Manager – Animation, Technical Animation, Rigging
* Ruth Gibson – Assistant Digital Production Manager – Lighting, Texture Painting, EFX (Houdini), Modeling & Pipeline
* Barbara McCoullough – Head Recruiter
Their primary focus will be on reel reviews and recruiting. (No presentation or roundtables this trip.) Any interested students should submit a demo reel, resume, cover letter, and demo reel breakdown. Submissions will be accepted at the 4th floor greeters desk until Friday, 2/6 at 5pm.

Group Project in 3D Animation
Come up with an idea of your own OR work on an animated short for a published children’s book called, “Where the gymnast begins” by Donna Culp.
Then put together a team and prepare a proposal for a one minute film.
Wanted: Teams who can do it all!
Looking for: Modelers, Texture Artists, Riggers, Animators, Lighters, Effects Artists, Compositors, Cinematographers, Sound Designers, Directors.
Are you up for the challenge???
This course is open to ALL SFDM students. This course is closed for registration, you MUST contact Professor Cabrera to meet and register-or for more information via email: ccabrera@scad.edu.
5 person maximum suggested per team.
