Thanks to all who came out to the 5 spot on Monday for a great lunch meet and greet. If you couldn’t make it, stay tuned here to some of this quarter’s upcoming events. Looking forward to meeting you. Also, if you have any ideas, events, or just cool moments of lighting to share, please email me at rhutson@scad.edu and I’ll post them for you.

Complete this short evaluation on your extended learning experience (workshops, extra help sessions, field trips, etc.) and you could win tickets to SCAD signature events, gift cards and more! Prize winners will be announced monthly.

You must submit the evaluation and then forward me the response you get after submission. This will allow me to count you “present” for the class you are attending by going to one of the sessions.

Interested in Lighting Design? Not even sure what that is, but you like hanging around some of the most awesome people in production design? We’re going to have a lighting mafia meeting at the new 5 Spot restaurant located in Habersham village on MLK day (Monday, January 21st) at 11am. You’re out of class anyway, you may as well come and meet up with other lighting students and faculty for a bite to eat and an update on all of the opportunities coming up this quarter as well as the best places to look for internships for the summer. If you’re not familiar with the 5 Spot, you can visit the website listed below. You’ll see that it’s just a block or so from the Terrace dorms, so if you don’t have a car, you can either take the orange line or the terrace express and then just walk 1 short block over to join us. Please spread the word. You don’t have to be a production design major to be in this not-so-elite group, you just have to like lights.

Please RSVP to the email below so that I can reserve us some space, but don’t worry, we’ll leave room for extras.—Ruth
