For this project we had to go around and find letters and numbers. It was really fun actually I had the hardest time finding a G for some reason. EVIL G!!!

Now below is my presentation I created for class. As soon as we were given the option to create a visual I immediately wanted to do a video. Even more since Micheal Jackson’s ABC song was in my head. Over all I really enjoyed this assignment and hope everyone will enjoy my video.
Patterns in a Walk

Assignment :
Collect or document as many patterns as you can find as you go about your regular daily activities. You may decide to use only patterns in nature, or human-made, or both. Pencil rubbings would work well for this, or make photographs or drawings.
I found Pattern and turned them into a collage. I took more to the literal meaning of pattern. Most where a pattern on fabric animals or in art pieces.

So for this assignment we had large still lifes set up for us. This was my first really big assignment drawing from life so it was a challenge for me. Also the fact that it was gray paper and we had to color only with black and white color pencil was another challenge. My main focus was the woman figure and the snake with it why the duck head to the side is less detailed. I really like how this came out but was very fustrated during the whole process. I know as a Visual Effect major I really need to get a better understanding of lighting with I hope to grain further into my colllege quarters.
Jack and Jill

With this project we had to select symbols off a paper in and arrange them in a way to recreate the story of Jack and Jill.
The catch was we had to work in groups!
Myself and two other girls created a theme of Chokas (still not really sure what they are but has something to do with spiritually parts of the body and yoga)
My part: I did all the drawing work and finished the inking of two of the pieces as well as did clean/touch up jobs on most of the pieces
These are the sketches I drew. They are 2″ x 2″ We all three talked out in order to try to get an idea of how to incorporate the Chokas.
This is us on our 2nd workday in class. I was drawing the final pictures in the SCAD shirt.
This is our finally project. I am still not really sure if I like it or not. I love the first square, but I am a bit bias against it since the yin yang was my idea.
I was glad however that in group critic that it was not completely hated, there were things pointed out that I had not even noticed.
Like the pattern from going through the story with literal and metaphoric meaning. Im still not happy with all the color involed but I do agree it would just not be the same without.

Assignment:
In whatever way you deem most appropriate (and most interesting!) document fifty things about a walk around the neighborhood.
This should be more than just a list – really show/tell us something new about the experience. In order to do that, you need to first experience the situation as an artist, with an eye towards uncovering things most people overlook.

So what did I do?
I took a collection of picutures, videos, as well as mental notes to create a video!!!

So its Saturday and Im busy at work.
My fun Friday off is over and now its time to get down to business.
With my laptop now giving me the blue screen of death 7 times now. It doesnt help with doing my work on how slow this computer moves!!

Inking Motif

For this assignment we had to create a motif. First after selecting two spaces and piercing one into the other, we came up with our own unique design.
After we created 10 graph patterns, 5 with 100 1’ x 1” and 5 with 25 5” x 5”
Next we selected the one we thought looked the best and covered it with tracing paper. Once it was covered we make a sketch of what areas to leave white and which to color black with India ink.
Finally we selected our design and created the piece on white illustration board.

Ok so we were suppose to only have done 2 Ink sketches but I was having a really hard times desiding so i made a few extra.
So this is my finished work. Overall I was unhappy with it. Where I think it is pretty at first glance, I am mad that the circles didnt turn out to be prefect circles. I also wished I would had done with a different design. I feel like after hearing the critiques from class this was a real waste of my time. My motif was inspired by Yin Yang, which I love very much, but I wish I would have just done something different with this motif.
In Critique it was stated the design was old fashion and left others wanting more. The circles were uneven but it was symmetrical and had a good pattern.
