Class Assignment

First of all, I chose to use tennis rackets and balls simply because I love tennis.  Anyone that read my first blog post would already know that!  The one with all the tennis balls in a circular shape is my design for showing concentration with the focal point being in the middle with all the smaller “dots” or tennis balls.  The one with the racket in the corner with the tennis balls is isolation with the racket being the focal point.  Tell me what you think!

Re-design

I decided to use this re-design and I paid a bit more attention to detail.  I tried to use better craftsmanship while keeping my shapes and line cuts more sharp.  I also took some good advice from the critique and I paid attention to staying out of the corners of the page like I did in most of my sketches.  That part of the critique really stood out for me since it was something I was definitely guilty of after looking at my other pieces and sketches.  Tell me what you think!

Work

A lot of the work I did after my sketching I found to be a lot different than my sketches… I found it harder to sketch some of the designs rather than just visually seeing it when I cut the shapes for the 8×10 groundsheet.  The sketches definitely helped to get the creative juices flowing though.

My Thumbnails and Work

My sketches I felt like became easier the more I practiced them… at first I was a bit unsure what to do, then as I progressed through the 100, it became more easy to see shapes and “designs” rather than just lines.  It helped to also spend a little more time on each one to really help each one be more unique.

Peter Yellico

Hello,

My name is Peter Yellico and I just moved here from Seattle, WA.  I grew up in Tampa, Florida but spent the past 7 years in Seattle.  After I graduated from Crystal River High school in Florida, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 5 years.  I traveled all over the world, and stationed in many different parts of the USA.  I was recruited to play tennis at SCAD, and I am really excited to start our season.

So far I have really enjoyed living in Savannah, and all that it has to offer.  My favorite food is Thai food, and I generally spend most of my time playing tennis.  I love animals, appreciating our planet, and trying different types of beer.  Nice to meet everyone, I’m a bit shy at first but love meeting new people…

See you guys around,

Pete
