High Performance  School Buildings Workshop

The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council and Sapelo Island Estuarine Research Reserve Coastal Training Program and the University of Georgia Marine Extension Service is conducting a practical, results-oriented workshop that will help you design and procure facilities that support better attendance and higher test scores, significantly reduce operating costs, and promote teacher retention and occupant health. We’ll show you how to build energy- and resource-efficient schools using proven methods and cost-effective, ‘whole building’ design strategies.

The workshop is for those who demand academic, economic, and environmental performance. The full-day session – for architects, engineers, and school facility planners – presents specific strategies and techniques for designing a high performance school building. All workshop participants will receive SBIC’s popular High Performance School Buildings Resource & Strategy Guide, 3rd Edition.
