Professional Audio Student Organization

Section 1. Meeting Conduct
A.   All PASO meetings will be conducting according to Robert’s Rules of Order.
a.   The Secretary will act as Parliamentarian to enforce these proceedings.
B.   In the event of a meeting’s cancellation, the Secretary will email the general membership an overview of what was to be discussed at the meeting.
C.   All members present at a PASO event or trip will conduct themselves in a professional manner that will reflect positively on PASO and SCAD.
a.   All members not conducting themselves in a professional manner will not be allowed to participate in future events.
Section 2. Community Service
A.   A member of the Executive Board must be present at all community service events.
B.   At least one community service event will be attempted each quarter.
C.   All members present at a community service event will conduct themselves in a professional manner that will reflect positively on PASO and SCAD.
a.   All members not conducting themselves in a professional manner will not be allowed to participate in future events.
Section 3. Guest Lectures
A.   A member of the executive board must be involved with the planning of a guest lecture for PASO.
B.   Planning of a guest lecture must begin at least one quarter before the desired date of the event.
C.   All members participating with the planning of a guest lecture will conduct themselves in a professional manner that will reflect positively on PASO and SCAD.
a.   All members not conducting themselves in a professional manner will not be allowed to participate in future events.
D.   In the event that a lecture will have limited seating, priority will go to general members with high attendance and participation records.
a.   A list of members in good standing will be maintained by the Secretary.
Section 4. Event Committees
A.   The President is the only member with the authority to approve a committee.
B.   The chair of a committee will be appointed by the President.
C.   Any committees requiring group finances will require the Treasurer to serve on the committee.
D.   The Committee will be required to send regular reports to the Secretary.
a.   The Secretary will determine the frequency of the reports.
E.   Committees will be required to hold at least one meeting between regular meetings of PASO.
Section 5. Group Trips
A.   A member of the executive board must chair the committee.
B.   The Secretary will maintain all appropriate paperwork and clearances for the trip.
C.   All members participating with a trip will conduct themselves in a professional manner that will reflect positively on PASO and SCAD.
a.   All members not conducting themselves in a professional manner will not be allowed to participate in future events.
Section 6. Election of New Officers
A.   A meeting for the purpose of taking nominations for new officers for the next academic year will be held no later than the fifth week of the Spring Quarter.
B.   Elections will be held during a general meeting to be held no later than the seventh week of Spring Quarter.
C.   In the event of an Officer resigning their position, Nominations will be taken to fill the position at the next general meeting and a general election will immediately follow.
D.   In the event of a tie in elections a runoff between the two candidates with the highest number of votes will occur immediately.
Section 7. Transition of New Officers
A.   All newly elected officers will begin their term at the last general meeting of Spring Quarter.
a.   The time between elections and the start of their term will be spent shadowing the outgoing officers.
B.   All officers will provide a binder containing all appropriate paperwork and materials to conduct the business of PASO to the newly elected officers at the end of Spring Quarter.
