Orientation Blog

Things went very smoothly and everyone seemed to be on their game last week. We had good turnouts at First Night at the Student Center, transfer social and coffeehouse this week. Initial feedback from both students and families was very positive. As we near the end of spring welcome week, we are seeing new students hanging out together at the student center and showing up at events. That is a good sign.

Survey results from each orientation this year has been posted. Spring numbers are being tabulated now, but feel free to check out the results of prior events here.

We hope that you are having a great first week of spring quarter. Warmer weather is coming!

Hello all.

Our next orientation meeting will be Thursday, January 24th at 4 p.m. in the student center, 2nd floor. You will now find active links for the spring orientation schedule, presenter sign-up, orientation shirt order form as well as the dates for Summer Swarm. You will note that orientation check-in and the afternoon sessions will begin a bit earlier this time and we will be asking Bradley Hall to stay open until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 22 to allow students to take care of business before the day concludes.

I apologize for having the meeting so quickly on the heels of this past orientation, but I will be headed to Lacoste in mid-February to support efforts there and need to get things in order before I depart. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for further improvement, as always.

Once again we had a fantastic orientation, this time for Winter 2013. The initial feedback from students and families was, once again, very positive. Thank you for making orientation such a nice event in which to participate. Evaluations have been submitted for processing and I will post up a link once they have been completed.

Our next orientation meeting will be  Wednesday, November 7, 4:30 p.m. at the student center.

Thank you all for being such a great team to work with. Fall orientation went very smoothly and that was because of everyone’s combined efforts.  After all of the planning and hard work on everyone’s part we heard many positive comments from students and families. We will let you know when we have received the evaluations back so that you can see those as well. We will look froward to working with you for winter orientation. In the meantime, while it is fresh on your mind, please don’t hesitate to share any feedback/critique to help us further improve the process.

Please see orientation volunteer assignment page for most current update. Please note the tabs at the bottom to move from one date to the next. We will be conducting a walk-through of orientation Thursday, September 6 at 4 p.m. in the Savannah Civic Center.

We will meet at the East side of the lobby and proceed from there. We need all people working orientation, volunteers, etc to join us in order to best understand the flow of the weekend.
