Groundsheet thumbnail drawings…5

The goal of this assignment was to create 25 thumbnail sketches using only horizontal and vertical lines, 25 using only diagonal lines, 25 using only curved lines, and 25 using one of each.  All together that makes 100 thumbnail sketches and here are mine.

I really enjoyed this assignment.  I did run out of steam here and there but overall I think it really pushed my creativity and I had a lot of fun with it.

Hey, my name is Stefan. I thought you had some cool designs in your sketches. I really liked some of your horizontal/vertical line sketches. I liked the ones where the lines would almost make shapes with the space, but they weren’t really shapes.

Hey Olympia! I from what I saw of your pieces in class your concepts were really interesting and eye catching at first glance. I really like the sketches you put out for them too!

Very lovely! I like that you are working with the entire space on each of your thumbnails. Your designs are innovative and just overall pleasing to me. Good work.

Hi Saxann – Remember to give us some context for the images you are posting. A description of the assignment and what you were trying to achieve with these sketches will help tremendously.

    Hi,

I want to compliment you on the curved line sketches. You have some really impressive ones, especially the one showing many close circular lines overlapping and almost rippling out of the corners. I had a hard time with the curved lines so thanks for the inspiration.
