Graphic Design to me is the visual message one creates to inform an audience. Each design created has and opportunity to express a firm message all while leave a lasting reminder with someone.

Designers are often presented with a problem and charged with coming up with an effective way to reach out and gain someone’s attention. Over the years we have evolved to incorporate computers as the default standard in creating these visual pieces and messages and so has the term for designers in the field has transformed as well from graphic artist to desktop publisher or computer aided designer to what we simply call ourselves now graphic designers. The positions have rapidly evolved as designers have also been tasked with presenting their designs in various mediums.

While each designer has their own strengths and may present a different solution to each task we all have the opportunity to learn with each project pursued and grow along the way.

The aspect that I enjoy about design is the ability to communicate through shapes and colors. From a simple sketch to a fully completed piece. The ability to manipulate images and generate various emotions out of the audience and the vision to sway a person’s opinion.

To me graphic design is the continuous progress of visual communications. It’s a path to share our inner emotions and thoughts.
