Critique Notes: people really like my map project i guess there were only a few negative things that were said and those were only brought to light after i mentioned that the hand was suppose to kind of cover the face it was said that it didn’t really function as being over the face and also that the arm under the hand was unnecessary. but besides that i think this one went pretty well. people liked how “raw” it was so thats a plus because thats what i was going for.

Jack & Jill

IMG_1116 IMG_5283 IMG_4313

Critique notes: people thought that the second and third panales really didnt look like it went with all of the rest of the and it also bothered them that in the first panel jack and jill were sideways. it was also hard for the class to figure out what are version was which was capture the flag. on the up side in general people liked our designs and the way we executed with good craftsmanship also that it was in all pretty cohesive like one person drew them all.

My contribution: I designed and drew and inked the last two panels. (besides the hill which was transferred to all the panels requiring hills.

ABC’s & 123′s

Critique notes: First off the main problem noticed was the quality of the prints and the fact that some of my letters and numbers were if not impossible to see in black and white, very very hard. secondly my presentation was really really off sloppy mess and lazy.the one positive was that i had pretty good ones if you could see them.

Sound map

this is how i decided to layout my sound map i drew my surroundings where i was and wrote down everything i heard with the tim i heard it all the sounds accrued within the frame of my "map" thats why i thought i was pointless to try and pin point where exactly they came from

Blog Research

A lot of my favorite artist are street artist iam in love with the movement of creating realy works of art as graffite rather then just throwing up a tag the problem with that and this assiment is that beacaues of legal reasons they dont necicarily post there work any where most of them are annonimis not just for the fact that what they do is illegal but because the countrys they work in and the subject matter they produce would be considered trezon and would get locked away for a great deal of time. but just to name a few, banksy, obey, Phlegm, ROA, Broken Fingaz, Space invader, TANT. luckily there are other means of viewing there art besides being on the street in person. intagram is the answer theres a page dedicated to documenting all the work they can find and posting it in a blog type format for the public to see and with out compromising anonymity. http://instagram.com/streetisart unfortunately I don’t think intagram lets you take pictures  of there site…but here are some links if you wanna check it out  http://instagram.com/p/VHpJrdK3b5/  http://instagram.com/p/VFCcqkK3UA/  http://instagram.com/p/U4MXOCq3Zo/

I am really into tatto artist altho i want to be a painter and one artis inperticular always stood out to me he didnt really have a blog, I found that most tattoo artist dont but they do have a facebook and I figure thats basicaly the same thing as a blog. I really like the dirrent stuff he posts is work is all over the place from messed up horror to pretty portraits

as you can see he expands beyond the conventional bounds of a Tattoo and really in my mind creates true works of art for people to wear, its different in the way that he's not limited by just shadows and high lights he really can work textures in to the work as well that combined with a much more progressive composition in the field anyways makes him top notch

Repetition of Grid

Critique notes: a lot of people didnt really like my design and said it was a little boring, it was also said that i fell into the trap of a pattern in the corrnors and the focal point in the middle which i cant really argue with. People also mentioned that it wasnt a good idea to have left just the outline which i agree whith in fact i think it would have looked alot beter whiout them all together but i serverly misunderstood the directions and that was my own fault. On the up side though it was said that i had some really cool things going on that just needed to be developed better which really should have and put more thought into it.

Exploration #1 Concentration & Isolation- focal points.

Concentration- This is shown by the line coming into one dark point

Isolation- this is shown by the puple being surrounded by nothing while the hole page is a design of scales

Subdivision of ground

this was my resign and i thought that it made a much better use of space as well as show more depth with is what i was hoping to do in my initial pice.

this one has a really cool feel to it i thought i liked how they all were connected if not physically then just by riding each other edges and that enabled me to fit all three types of lines in basically one line.

i really liked this one because if the middle pice and how "the legs kind of looked like intestines i just like the shapes that were created with the negative space. this is also the one i chose to re-design because i though is i were to execute it better it would have looked pretty cool

This on i though would come out better but i am sure as most everyone realized construction paper isn't the easiest medium to work with. My drawing look a lot better then this and i picked it because it reminded me of Eddie van hales guitar probably one of the most famous diagonal line designs created, i just didn't execute it as well as i had hoped.

i selected this design because i thought it was one of the more interesting pieces because to me it feel stable while being balanced

Critique notes: In the critique we didn’t talk about my designs so i really have little to go on on this sections but what i found is that the more successful pieces all actually had some division in it and made great use of the space given this seemed  to be the key in the success of your design and its something i need to work on on future projects

Hello my name is Nicolas Di Iorio, i go by nick. I am a virgo so really i like to be alone, I’am sort of a lone wolf howling at the moon. i just started this quarter although i was in the rising star program the summer of my junior year going into my seniour year. So that’s how i got accepted into SCAD after that i decided to take the first quarter off purely because of my laziness. so now i am here and having nothing to do al day for about 4 months has really motivated me and gave me the kick start i needed.

(this picture of me is totally a joke by the way haha)
