During the design process of this project, I have tried remixing and combining different words into creating a direction to take. It clicked with me that the words presented an opportunity to use my current surrounding at this current time where issues of identity vs globalization are faced.
I have research old traditions, sayings and locations that meant a lot to the community. Crossed over what is left of them and what has been taken away. The thing I struggled with the most is after sketching out my ideas, some linked together and some took different directions.
As my thought process developed and after getting feedback from others I started to look at areas that I was missing out like how can I make this relevant to the younger generation? and not only the younger generation but people who live here now at this time, so I thought creating an app would be good solution. The app will provide useful information to those who seek to know more (the true culture) of the country, even the locals themselves can benefit from it.
The over all shape of the logo represents a compass which fishermen used as an assisting tool and this app is called Serdal which is the name of the individual who is responsible for guiding and finding the place in which pearls are found.
