I cannot believe that it is our last week in Lacoste! We only have six more days left of being here and though I am ready to go home, I am definitely going to miss this beautiful place and being surrounded by wonderful and talented students.

This week, we are preparing for our Vernissage exhibition, which is going to take place on Friday and Saturday of this weekend. It’s only two days away! I honestly cannot believe we are already starting week 8 in Lacoste! Sometimes I feel like I just got here, and other times I feel like I have been here my whole life! It’s an odd feeling knowing that we will be leaving this place within two weeks and that we will no longer have to scale the hill, watch out for huge bees, and attempt to beat the crowd of students at dinner. I think it will be an adjustment for all of us going back home, as we try to get used to driving again ordering food in English. Read the rest of this entry »

Week 7 is here! This week is full of work, work, work as we prepare for our finals! It is shocking to think that we only have 3 weeks left here in the foothills of southern France. Honestly, it feels like we just arrived yesterday.

All the students here have been working hard to deliver their materials and projects for the final exhibition. Because most of our projects are going to be exhibited in the final show, we have to be finished with everything a week before we leave so that we can prepare our studios for the Vernissage. This week and next week we will be working on our final projects and assignments for our classes and then we are off to prepare for the show! Read the rest of this entry »

David Hayter, responsible for bringing the X-Men and Watchmen to the big screen, is now focusing his sights on the Dragon Riders of Pern. The Dragon Riders of Pern is a 22-volume book series written by Anne McCaffrey, first published in 1968. Among the book series is a series of short stories where the world of Pern was actually introduced, the first story being Weyr Search. These short stories were eventually combined with followup stories into the first book Dragon Flight. McCaffrey continues to write books in the series at age 85.

Recently at an event in Akihabara, Sega showcased their upcoming MMO Phantasy Star Online 2. PSO 2 is the sequel to Phantasy Star Online, originally released on the Dreamcast. Phantasy Star Online was one of the few MMO games that were developed for a console instead of a computer. The Dreamcast itself came with a built in modem which at the time was the only console to do so. Making it the only console with internet connection straight out of the box. Popular movie review sites, Flixster and Rotten Tomatoes, have been bought out by Warner Bros Home Entertainment as of May 4th. Rotten Tomatoes is well known for their rotten tomato rating system. Gathering reviews for recent and old movies, rating them by freshness. The fresher the rating, the better the movie. As well as taking professional reviews there is a separate category for user generated ones.
