Today during class we were asked to create a design that displayed a focal point by either concentration or isolation using only white and black media.
This is my design for concentration, as you can see the circles size increase on the outside and then they capture your attention as they start getting smaller and smaller leaving almost no positive space at all.
Now you can see my design representing isolation. i intended to draw love bugs and attract your attention around the design by increasing the size of the borders of some of them. Then I created my focal point by giving one of the love bugs a dark value.
Thanks for reading!

I love both of these designs! You really captured both isolation and concentration very well.
Your first design is a little crowded. You may have considered like a spiral and as it gets closer to the center they become more bunched? But your second design is executed well, good work.
I really like your concentration because while it’s obvious that there are more and more points as you come towards the focal point; the points also get smaller creating a great perspective of depth. Nice work on both!

I love how compact your first design is. How much space is inside the larger circles and how little space there is inside the smaller circlers. I also love your second piece of how the bugs lines get thicker and darker as they get closer to the viewer.

I really like how heavy both of these designs are. You made it easy to feel where the weight was even with such dense repetition. The concentration also has a cool sense of depth. Good job.
very good job
All of your work is really well done, I have no doubt you’ll be successful in fulfilling your hopes to someday work at a well-known fashion house!!! I particularly liked your isolation and concentration pieces!
I found interesting both designs. Isolation and concentration are represented really well. They are creative and unique. Great work!
I love the way you chose to approach the assignment compared to what myself and others have done. I’m curious as to why you chose not to overlap your shapes for your concentration piece, however I really like the optical illusion it appears to make. I think your isolation piece is absolutely adorable. I really enjoy how you still used the same shape, but simply darkened it all in, while using the thicker borders to lead the eye in. Great job!
