Redesign 1

Hola hola,

Since we have to redesign one, I choose to work again the one of all of the lines together. Looking at all of the different projects on the wall this monday, I decided to go with something really simple about this redesign. From the 25 thumbnails sketches for all lines I decided to develop number 11. The sketch has more lines on it but, as I said, I wanted to go for something simple.

What I like about this design is that it looks like and ice cream, and if you turn it around looks like a little boat. Just by using all the lines together we can create two designs in one. Also, as you can see in the curved lines I wanted to try to make the line from thin to thick, from the top to the bottom. It is not that clear because, for me, making a beautiful curved line is hard. But at least I tried, right?

I scream, You scream, We all scream for Ice Cream!

I hope you have a good rest of the week.

Chi vediamo!

Final project for assignment 1

And we meet again…

After having a really hard time choosing 1 of each different lines, I finally decided for these 4.

First, the horizontal and diagonal lines. I selected the 25 thumbnail because I liked the 2 one but the negative space was flowing. So, I decided to mixed thumbnail number 2 with number 9 and create this one for my final project. One thing I like about this one is that it looks like buildings. Observe it…

For the diagonal lines, I really like number 21. I like this one because it looks like a reflect. Also, using thick and thin lines were very helpful to remark the two big squares. This is definitely my favorite one.

Now, for the curved lines I choose thumbnail number 19. What I like about this one is that all of the lines look like they are “flowing” away from the center of the drawing but it also looks like a spider web. I actually wanted to do number 7 but I knew it would take me a lot of time trying to figure out HOW to do it. However, I am happy with the results for this one. (And yes, that black spot is glue…)

And last but not least, all lines together. I actually did not like this one. I think is so borring and simple. I wanted to do number 15 but I was convinced by a friend that this one is more interesting than the other. I do not have much to say about this one…

After working hard, I finally got to finish all of them and got a little sleep. I hope you guys enjoy them and feel free to give any good or constructive critique about them.

Adios!

About Me

Hello everyone.

My name is Laura Matteo and I am from Caracas, Venezuela. My mom is Venezuelan and my dad is Italian. I have an older sister named Adriana. My sister and I grew up in Caracas; we graduated from high school and then we came to the United States. Adriana is studying advertising and I am still thinking what I would like to major in. One of my choices is graphic design. I like this career because is impressive how can someone create and artwork, an advertisement for a magazine, or even edit a photograph just with a computer. On the other hand, my other option is jewelry design. What I like the most of this career is that I can use my hands to create a body adornment. I still have time to choose between those two.

I am very honest, sociology is my favorite subject, I’m extroversive, I can be really loud sometimes, I don’t have too much patience, and I love to make people laugh. Meeting new people, knowing their stories, and where they are from is something I will always like. But on the other hand, I can be really quite.
