Subdivision of a groundsheet
Critique notes: Pay close attention to assignment detail! Make sure your work correctly represents the objection, i.e. bristol board 8×10 not 9×12. Also when thinking of subdivisions on a groundsheet you may have a perceived sense of division by having close but not connected lines, stay away from gaps that are too large, this can lead to continuous negative space. It is important to have a point of emphasis and can be done effectively by using the rule of thirds. In a project of this nature using economy skills along with balance will take you a long way. Always be conscious of craftsmanship!
Final Compositions
After looking through all my thumbnails I choose these particular designs in part because they seemed to naturally stand out from the rest. I also felt they accomplished the task for each part of the assignment while reflecting my own design style.
Thumbnails
25 Thumbnails Vertical/Horizontal Lines
25 thumbnails Diagonal Lines
25 Thumbnails Curved Lines
25 Thumbnails Vertical/Horizontal, Diagonal and Curved Lines
Re-Design – I chose to re-design the graphic containing vertical/horizontal, Curved and diagonal lines because I felt my first composition lacked a focal point. I also found after talking with the class and viewing others it needed to represent a better sense of depth.

Very engaging designs. Your third and fourth ones are my favorites and they are varied and simple and executed successfully.
