Concentration & Isolation Assignment

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kaitlyn Smith @ 11:35 pm

Concentration:

I chose this as my drawing of concentration because it puts the focal point to the lower right corner of the page where the largest ‘concentration’ of cats are seen.

Isolation:

I chose this as my drawing of isolation because it puts a clear focal point to the cat in the top left corner of the page. There are several other shapes, lines, and color shade but the cat still remains as a clear point of isolation.

Redesign For Assignment #1

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kaitlyn Smith @ 4:17 pm

This is the sketch of my redesign for Assignment #1. I chose to redesign my Part D design of the horizontal/vertical, diagonal, and curved lines. I felt that this piece could of had a lot more put into it with such a variety of lines. I limited myself on my first design so I wanted to put more thought into my redesign.

Final Designs-Assignment #1

These are the final designs that I chose from my preliminary sketches. I would say that I chose these four designs because I like neatness and I like for my work to flow together. I felt that these chosen designs met that quality for me.

Introduction

Bonjour, Guten Tag, Aloha, Hola, Shwmae, & Hello!

My name is Kaitlyn Smith and I am attending SCAD as a Fashion Design major. I am from a very small town, Swainsboro, Georgia and relocated to Savannah, Georgia almost two years ago in order to pursue my interest and passion in the fashion industry. I wanted to get settled in Savannah first before I actually attended school at SCAD and now here I am. Before moving to Savannah, I actually attended East Georgia College, a small town community college, and majored in Pre-Pharmacy. After my first year of class I quickly realized that I was on the complete wrong track with my life. I couldn’t be happier to finally be attending SCAD and pursuing my true dreams.

I have a huge heart for all animals, but most of all I love cats. I have two cats; a male named Polson and a female named Ahi. They both equally share a special place in my heart. I also love to cook and would say that I’m fairly good at it. My favorite type of food would hands down be Italian food, next in line would be Mexican food. I’m not very big on reading books, however, I love reading poetry. My favorite poet would probably be Andrea Gibson. If you’ve never heard of her or read her work it would be well worth your time. I love to watch movie but I only tend to watch them every now and then. It’s hard to say what my favorite movie would be but I know that two of my all time favorites are Inception and The Butterfly Effect. I like movies that really grab your attention and force you to pay attention.

I look forward to having a really great semester at SCAD. I look forward to meeting new people, as well as learning new things.

Hello world!
