Inking project!

Hello all! So, here is my take on the repetition grid! First, to start it all, we had to make a motif to use in our repetition grid. Here is a set of motifs I chose from.
I had a hard time making a creative motif. I couldn’t figure out which one I wanted to use. Once I chose one, I made a grid of 25 on a 10×10 piece of tracing paper. I started placing the motifs on the grid in different ways. Here are a few different ways I placed them.
I ended up choosing the first one. I glued my motifs to the paper. I grabbed another piece of tracing paper and traced the outline onto it. Due to short notice of changing my whole motif, I came up with a few very quick inking plans.
After this step, I put the design on my illustration board by scribbling on the back of the tracing paper with the design on it. I outlined the design with pen and began inking. Once I was done inking, I went over the edges with the pen and cut out the design. Here is my final design.
I had a hard time with my project because when I chose my motif, I became dissatisfied with the outcome of my inking plan. So, I immediately changed to this and finished to the end. It’s not exactly what I wanted, but it does what it was supposed to!
